Yawn

28/06/09

This photo was actually taken yesterday – but it is such a good one I thought I’d use it for today!

This is Vicky. She’s a contageous yawner. You just have to utter the word and she finds herself gasping for oxygen. This photo even sets her off.

If you yawned when you saw it, can you please comment – just so Vicky doesn’t feel so bad!?

Herald

28/06/09

Herald.
Proclaim.

Singing out because they can.

All through the day there were two Tui’s, calling out across the fences, across the stream and across the tree tops; chirping their beautiful and distinctive call.

Proclaiming.

How often is it that we talk about things that excite us? How often is it we talk to our friends about God? Proclaim.
Herald.
We heard this morning at church about Herald. How its the origin of the word Evanglize. I think of Heralds, bringing back the Good news to the people. Standing, unable to contain the news and shouting from the street corner up to the roof tops.

Straight

26/06/09

Tonight Vicky straightened her sister’s hair for her ball. Its not often that this happens, and I was bored enough to sit in the corner in silence whilst this happened. At the end of it however, they came out and one might have found it hard to tell them apart from certain angles.

Tweeter

24/06/09

Many of you know I’m an avid supporter of Twitter.

Before now, I was not a fan of Tweeters. The small speakers at the front of the car always seemed pointless and insignificant. I couldn’t hear them making much difference.

Until now.

So I put some into my Mini and now my speaker system is all set up and running primo. Sounds brilliant.

Glint

24/06/09

I was greeted this morning as I opened my curtains by a glinting sun off a house’s windows across the valley. It was bright orange – the yellow deturbed by the glorious angled morning sun. It was so beautiful.

God is good. Its mornings like these, where I most need reminding of Him as a busily set about getting ready for work that He will stop me in my tracks and remind me who is boss…

Laze

23/06/09

Sometimes, when you want to sleep in – you can’t.

Othertimes, when you don’t want to sleep in – you do.

Other times, you plan to sleep in – and the cat wakes you up so it can sleep on you.

Spectator Fire

Happy 60th Birthday 2nd Wellington.

To celebrate, 2nd Wellington Boys’ Brigade challenged the other BB companies to a friendly duel of Paintball. Chickening out is my motto when it comes to this; plus – someone needed to take photos!

In the process of taking said snapshots, I did managed to get caught in some crossfire. Lets just say I am glad I wasn’t taking a photo at the time, because I got hit flush in the faceguard with one!

Web Work

18/06/09

Lately I have been working on my new website design, getting the last bits and pieces together before I release it to the world.

I’m thinking Saturday morning might be a good time to do it…

No Sweat Fret

16/06/09

Music practice tonight.

We practiced the ‘new’ song – “Open up the Gates” (Planetshakers), which has seemingly taken the morning service by storm. After playing it for the first time last Sunday, I found myself with the lead riff and a lot of self inflicted attention – thus causing sweatty hands and the result of almost losing grip on my guitar pick once or twice.

Tonight, with a few more run through’s, it worked out much better.

Bone

15/06/09

Today I fell in love with plastic wounds.

We were running a First Aid practical for our juniors as their last night of badges at BB. Mum managed to dig out some of Dad’s old fake plastic wounds and some fake blood. We dressed the seniors up in these bits of plastic and rubber, and had them situated in various locations around the church. As the boys found them, they had to assess the situation, and apply their newfound knowledge and skills to the task in order to help these people and their wounds.

Having never seen a protruding bone from a broken arm before, I couldn’t tell you whether this is accurate or not – but it sure looks the part!!!

Grip

13/06/09

So today I started work on a new website. Often I find myself in the need to take photos in order to compliment or develop my design. The more I become a part of this game of web design, the more I want to honour and respect other’s work by not using photos I’ve found on Google Images. To counteract that, I take my own photos. It also means I get exactly what I want – if not a little more extra work for me!

This photo is one of those photo’s… so what you’re actually getting here is a small glimpse of my new website design!

That Gherkin Sound

11/06/09

I eventually got my new speakers installed for the Gherkin. They fit perfectly and produce a really nice quality sound – just perfect for that run around car that the Mini has become. I love that the time and effort I’d put into the speaker board has finally come around. There’s nothing better than a homemade project coming to fruition!
