Vicky and I went to see Monet. I have seen many of them whilst I was overseas in Europe – but for Vicky, it was a once in a life time opportunity to get to see some of the more famous art outside of this little country of ours.

We are sometimes so sheltered. People over in Europe and the States take for granted the fact that they can go and see art by the worlds masters any weekend they like. Over here, we have to wait years to get anything of this level of fame out here.

Naturally, we weren’t allowed cameras into the exhibition – so I took a photo of the car park instead…

Sometimes you just need a restart.

I thought I had. But upon releasing my new website, with the napkin theme – I ran into issues.

Firstly, there were issues with the layout and its display in IE (which is always a problem – can I get an AMEN from all you web-designers!?)

Secondly, the response was less than positive (although thank you to all those who showed their support!)

I decided to restart. So at 11:25pm last night, I began jotting down the many ideas that had begun to swarm inside my head.

Today, I began work on one of those ideas. I like. I like it a lot!

Now, this is not stacks. Stacks was legendary in its day. NLDC 2000! But this is another one of our favourite BB passtimes. Although this year it was so much better being the LIC, and not having to be one of the ones on the bottom!

I was pretty impressed with the guys. They showed some real back bone (stop slapping your thigh!). Usually we do it with only 4 along the bottom, but this time we were doing 5!

Though try as we might, we couldn’t get that last little guy up to the top before it all gave way.

Sometimes thats like Faith. We strive to reach God. We strive to be perfect. Yet no matter how hard we try, we can never make it. We can never reach God’s standard. That’s why God had to send His Son, to live a flawless life and be sacrificed – so that our inequities could be forgiven.

Now that’s something to celebrate!

Today was a marathon.

8:30-9:45am – Morning pre-service practice.
10:00-11:30am – Morning Service.
12:30-3:00pm – New songs for Morning Service practice.
4:00-6:10pm – Evening pre-service practice.
6:30-8:00pm – Evening Service.

Essentially almost 12 hours of playing my guitar.
(Those with eagle eyes and guitar knowledge will see the link straight away between the photo and this post!)

My Head Hurts

Tonight Vicky and I met up with a bunch of friends from church for dinner and Cranium!

I love that game. I don’t know what it is. I guess my team get bored because whenever we’re in a rut and falling behind (which is most of the time), we go for blue. Creative Cat.

Drawing, Art, Sculpting, Blind Drawing… all my thing!

Mini Made It

I love my Mini.

Today Vicky and I went to pick up Vicky’s sister from Silverstreem. Quite a trek for the lil’ Gherkin.

I got this photo whilst waiting in the parking lot. Its very… raw. Just like the Mini. It really puts you back in the driver’s seat. None of this luxury of modern cars today!

I love my Mini.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20.

Working on the church website, I figured I may as well take some inspirational photos.

That was before I found CreativMyK . This site has graphics, logos and photos that are free to use for non-profit purposes. This includes things like Sermon Powerpoints, EasyWorship backgrounds and of course, Church Websites.

Sneak Preview

Lately I’ve been working on the new church website. This is by no means is a finished design. So I thought I’d give you a bit of a sneak peak at it, since I don’t have a photo to share with you today.

Today was spent busily getting together CV’s, working out postage and getting things all sent off.

This package was the last one left, lingering on my desk. Thought it deserved a photo.

Planning the Term that was

BB went by so fast last term that before we felt like we even got started we had finished.

Tonight we had a planning meeting for Term 2, sorting out the badges we would do and the Squads. Quite a lot to get through, but we managed to keep it under 2 hours which was an acheivement in itself.

Room with a View

Sometimes I walk into my room to grab my wallet before heading out, when I’ll glance out the window and just see a beautiful view. I’d like to think none can beat it sometimes, looking out over the valley floor.

So I thought I’d share it with you. Here it is, the view I get from my room some nights.
