I am an artist. Though more specifically a painter, just so I don't get lumped in with those people who use art as an excuse for stupidity.
I am a web-designer. Every now and then I pull out the laptop and write a few hundred lines of code.

Photography has been a minor passion in my life. It merely fills the place of the sketch book as an artist.
Through many experimentations and trial and errors, I have been able to forge a certain artistic style into my own photography - making them more than just photos - be it through using effects on the camera or enhancement with the computer.
I currently own an old Olympus SLR camera, which rarely gets used in this digital age. My digital camera is a Fujifilm FinePix F30, which is a great little slim camera with many manual and automatic settings on it.
Photography is an uncertain end to a moment. It records it, saves it to memory allowing people to experience the moment in the future. However, by pushing the button to take the snapshot, you do not have the chance to experience the moment first hand, because you are behind the camera. So although you are there at the scene, you miss it, because of your concentration to that button. Your only memory of it all lies in the photograph the camera produces.
